Design and surfaces decoration is the focus in this workshop. 
Each participant will be able to build one or more simple forms, but will also be invited to bring bisqued pieces, in order to have sufficient material to experiment the surface techniques. 
Ute will show how she builds her asymmetrical, playful vessels and explain how she uses the rules of graphic and painting design as her preferred approach to define the decoration on her pots. 
She will demonstrate her use and processing of engobes, wax, dry clay, glazes, and multiple firings. The final surface is often the result of 4 or 5 successive firings, adding glaze or other elements like englobe, stamps or decals after each firing until the result is defined according to her vision. Only the final firing will be a Raku firing, to enhance the textural lines.
